Head of Accounting

The Head of Accounting will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the accounting function for KeepIt. You will ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining internal controls and managing compliance with local and international financial regulations. You will lead a team of accountants across multiple areas and work closely with senior leadership to optimize processes and support business growth.
As a senior member of the finance team, the Head of Accounting will be responsible for coordinating the accounting operations across our six legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate month-end closing, financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and the implementation of best practices in accounting across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants across multiple countries, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Coordinate accounting operations across six legal entities, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with group-wide financial strategies.
- Provide guidance and development opportunities to team members, ensuring the function is resourced with skilled professionals and operates effectively.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
- Coordinate year-end audits and manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely completion.
- Ensure all statutory filings (e.g., VAT, corporate tax returns, annual reports) are completed on time and in accordance with local and international laws.
- Review and maintain internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure financial accuracy across all entities.
Process Optimization & Internal Controls:
- Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency, driving the use of automation and other technological tools where possible.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place across all functions, driving compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and international standards.
- Ensure day-to-day coordination with 3rd-party accounting teams in certain jurisdictions.
- Partner with other departments (e.g., legal, P&C, sales, and operations) to support the financial aspects of company projects, acquisitions, and global expansion.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
- Experience working in a multinational organization, ideally within the software or technology sector.
- Proven track record of managing accounting teams across multiple jurisdictions and legal entities.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local GAAP, and tax compliance across European jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Oracle NetSuite), as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of financial consolidation processes and multi-entity accounting.
