Keepit is looking for an Operations Manager based in Krakow, Poland to help us grow our world-class SaaS backup service.

The Operations Manager will be building and running a 24x7 operations team with primary responsibilities ranging from managing a team of skilled operation engineers, keeping the lights on, ensuring timely maintenance, to responding swiftly to incidents.

Strong basic technical skills are required, along with a firm technology overview. We are seeking someone able to oversee large complex scenarios as well as understand the intricate and important details. Whilst such a broad skillset is practically impossible to possess, we want you to have the ambition, we’ll deliver the challenge.

Keepit is running multiple large Linux based installations all over the world, and to speak our language you must be well versed in concepts such as: Linux distributions; keeping installations security compliant; relational databases; file systems; network routing and the OSI network layers; service level objectives such as uptime; vendor and service provider handling; cost optimization; and finally, obviously backup.

Responsibilities Include: 

Technical Leadership:  

• Work with and understand our platform, how to maintain it, how to keep it secure.

• Have an opinion on good operations behaviour, have a respect for uptime.

• Be able to understand, define and implement service-level objectives and indicators.

• Good command-line skills.
